Hi Joe,

I hope you have installed AllPermissionsFileService:

ClientEnvironmentAdapter.setFileService(new AllPermissionsFileService());

How did you deploy the signed jar files including ulc-base-trusted.jar? Are
you sure that all the ULC client side jars that you signed are deployed in
the "webapps/<app-name>/lib" dir? Please check with the jarsigner tool that
the those jar files are indeed signed.

Moreover make sure that your browser is loading these files afresh and not
using the old cached files. You can remove the cached jar files using Java
Plug-in Control Panel
(http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/plugin/developer_guide/control_pa
nel.html)

If it still doesn't work after checking all of the above, you may have to
look at the permissions in the java.policy file of the plugin.

Thanks and regards,

Janak

Subject: [ULC-developer] Printing and Saving/Loading Files

Hi,

I know printing opens a PDF on the user's computer. As far as I know
saving/loading files and printing both require the use of signed jars. To
start, this is all being done from an applet. I started by creating a
ketstore using keytool. Then using the keystore created I signed all the
jars in the client folder. All the ULC client jars, the extensions client
jars, and the application jar have been signed.

When i load it up in tomcat on my development machine it does not allow me
to print or save/load files. I can perform these operations using the
development launcher. Are there some steps that I'm missing, or something
I'm not understanding? Any information on my problem would be appreciated.

I'm using ULC 6.1.2 and Java 1.5.0

Thanks,
Joe
