Thanks for the reply. After the post I installed Eclipse 3.2 and things
worked fine.

Coming back to Europa. After adding boxpane to the frame I could not add
anything to the boxpane. It always ended up adding all the components to
the frame. I could also see a red cross next to the components
suggesting something was wrong.

Subject: RE: [ULC-developer] Problem using Eclipse Visual Editor

Hi Aamir,

ULC VE 6.0 is based on Eclipse VE 1.2 which was meant for Eclipse 3.2.

No new release of Eclipse VE has been made for Eclipse 3.3.

Officially ULC VE 6.0 has not been tested and certified to run with
Eclipse
3.3.

However, I just tested ULC VE 6.0 (with Eclipse VE 1.2.0 that is bundled
with ULC VE 6.0) on Eclipse 3.3 Europa.

I built the whole tutorial in the above setup without any problem.

You say that you were able to add the boxpane but after that you cannot
add
anything to the boxpane. Do you get an error message or did it just
hang?

Can you give me some more information? What platform and OS are you
running
on?

This won't work because that code is not in the pattern recognized by
the
VE. So VE cannot parse it correctly to build its model and display the
image.

Thanks and regards,

Janak

Subject: [ULC-developer] Problem using Eclipse Visual Editor

I have installed the latest Eclipse 3.3.0, ULC 6.1.3 and ULC Visual
Editor
6.0.0. I followed the ToDoList tutorial upto "Compose the User Interface
1"
successfully. Simply put it just does not work after that. I cannot add
anything to the ULCBoxPane. Hence a major road block.

I also tried pasting the ToDoList code found at

http://www.canoo.com/ulc/developerzone/src/todolist/MyToDoList.java

which is not picked up by the Visual Editor correctly.

Clearly there is a configuration issue. Can someone please tell me how
to
solve it.

Thanks

Aamir Dehlavi
