Then I have to ask what the point of having help strings is. "Clears buffered filenames" may now be correct; however, surely the point of changing the help strings is not to just make them correct, but also to make them useful to the user. How is someone supposed to guess from "Clears buffered filenames" that the filenames are those filenames listed under the yellow arrows on the tool bar? I think that we are wasting our time with these help strings if we are not concerned mainly with making them of use to the user. What do others think about this? Dick
