6 Dec 1712 These are to give notice, that the woods of Tillyyard in the County of Tyrone, distant 5 Miles from Londonderry, 5 from Strabane and within a mile and a half of Loughfoyle, consisting of good oak timber with Ash &c. are to be sold before the 25th March next. Such persons who have a mind to purchase the same are desired to give in their proposals to the Right Honourable the Earl of Abercorne or to Mr. John PHILLIPSON at Strabane, before that time. (Dublin Intelligence) 19 Apr. 1738 We hear from the County of Fermanagh, that one Mr. MAGUIRE, a Roman Catholic gentleman of near 800£ per Annum who lived at Tempo in that county and who had kept a country girl as a mistress for some time, who upon some little falling out, concerted measures with a female doctor for poysoning him, and accordingly they gave him 4 pills, 2 of which he took and soon after began to vomit blood and in a few hours died in a miserable condition, his eyes being burst in his head and part of his skin peel'd off. We hear the Doctress was taken up and sent to Enniskilling jail, where she had taken one of her own pills, and is since dead chusing rather to die by her own hands than the hangmans. (Derby Mercury) 30 Dec. 1740 To be sold by Publick Cant Dick's Coffee house in Skinner's Row on Monday 29th Jan. next. The house and lands of Arconncell in Co. Armagh belonging to Mr. Robert GILLMER distant 4 miles from Monaghan, 6 from Armagh, and half a mile from Middletown, all good market towns containing the following tenants Names; Robert GILLMER, John FERGUSON, Terence DEYCHAN, Thomas FERGUSON,Jeffry HANLON - leases made for 31 years commencing in the years 1745-1747 (Pues Occurrence) 30 Jul. 1757 married - (blank) CATHCART Esq. of Co. Fermanagh to Elizabeth HUMPHREYS daughter of Edward HUMPHREYS of World's End. (Pues Occurrence) 20 Sept. 1757 married - At Rice Hill near Cavan Robert BREDIN Esq. of Innishmore to Miss Clements HAMILTON (Pue's Occurence) 25 Nov. 1758 Their Excellency's the Lords Justices issued a proclamation, offering £50 reward of cash for the first 4, and also £20 for each and every of the next 4 Persons, who be discovered, apprehended and convicted, for being riotously assembled on the 15th of Sept. last, and coming disguised in woman's apparel and armed into the fields of Knockanrow, the Parish of Artrea, and County of Tyrone and for assaulting and knocking down David WOODS, who was employed by Dr. Jonathan ROGERS, Rector of the said Parish, in receiving the tythe of the barley in said lands (Pue's Occurence) 26 Dec. 1758 - to be sold for satisfaction of debts pursuant to an act of parliament for confirming and carrying an agreement made between Abraham CREICHTON and William TODD Esq.'s County of Tyrone Barony of Dungannon The 4 townlands of Grange, Tullahoge, together with the Mountain Denominations, now under lease to Charles DOUGLAS Esq. for the residue of a term of 60 years commenced the 1st May 1700 at 36£ yearly chief rent. (Pue's Occurrence) 22 Apr. 1763 married - A few days ago, Mr. Thomas CHISBY of Moyallen in the co. Armagh, an extensive linen merchant to the agreeable Mrs. Mary RICHARDSON lately of Bride street with a fortune of 6000. and 200£ per annum, both of the people called Quakers married - Mr. John GREER of Lurgan to Miss CUPPAGER of the same town. died- At Moorfield Co. Tyrone, George LENDRUM Esq. died - At Lurgan in the county of Armagh, deservedly lamented, Mr. Thomas HARDEN (Dublin Courier) 4 Mar. 1763 died - At Belville County of Tyrone John MORRIS Esq. sincerely lamented.(Dublin Courier) 17 June 1763 married -in Co. Donegal Capt. George BROWN, to Miss Charity DOUGHERTY daughter of Conn DOUGHERTY of Tullagh in said county. died- At Stewartstown Co. Tyrone Thomas GATES gent. (Dublin Courier) 9 Apr. 1764 On the 17th inst. an old castle at Ballydermon, in the county of Fermanagh, which was built about 600 years ago, fell down, and 5 poor people, who lived in the lower part, were burled in the ruins. (Aberdeen Press) 9 Nov. 1764 married - John WRIGHT an eminent attorney of Muff in the County of Derry to the agreeable Miss HARKNESS of Dungannon in the county Tyrone; with 1000£ fortune married - At Magherelin in Co. Down the Rev. William BROWN A.M. vicar of St. Andrew's Parish to Miss Rachel STUTHARD whose very considerable fortune is the less of her accomplishments. died - At Warrenstown Co. Down Major Richard BAYLY formerly of the Young (-?) (Dublin Courier) 6 Jan 1766 married - A few Days ago, Mr. GREER of Lurgan, to Miss Ann PIM of Nurney Co. Kildare, with a fortune of 4000£ died - At Manorwater House, Co. Fermanagh, aged 80 years, the Rev. Dr. Samuel MADDEN a gentleman of great learning and piety, and remarkable for his great liberality towards promoting the Arts and manufactures of this Kingdom (Dublin Courier) 11 April 1766 married at Augher Co.
