Major-General the Honourable C. E. BINGHAM, C.V.O., C. B., brother of the Duchess of Abercom, has been promoted to the temporary rank of lieutenant-general. Major-General (temporary Lientenaut-General) Sir E. H. H. ALLENBY, who is promoted to the temporary rank of general, spent his regimental career in the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons. Last night’s 'Gazette' also announced the promotion of Lieutenant George Y. HENDERSON, Army Service Corps, to the temporary rank of captain. Captain HENDERSON, who is a son of the late Sir James HENDERSON D.L., is adjutant of the 36th (Ulster) Divisional Train. Captain, the Honourable R. W. H. O’NEILL M.P., has vacated the adjutancy of the 12th Royal Irish Rifles (Central Antrim Volunteers) on appointment to the staff of his brigade. He has been succeeded by Captain Geo. THOMPSON of Larne, who, prior to joining the regiment, was second in command of the Larne Harbour Company of the U.V.F. Captain O'NEILL was formerly in the North of Ireland Yeomanry. He is a son of Lord O’NEILL of Shane’s Castle, and on the death of his elder brother, Captain the Honourable A. E. B. O’NEILL , in action, he was chosen to succeed him as Parliamentary representative for Mid-Antrim. Captain T. F. O’DONNELL 7th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers, has been attached to the 3rd Battalion of his regiment at Buncrana for duty. Captain H. H. MULHOLLAND Royal Army Medical Corps Special Reserve, has been posted to Belfast for duty, with effect from 5th Nov. Second-Lieutenant G. C. T. MONEY, Army Service Corps, has been posted to Belfast for duty. Lieutenant William Blacker CATHCART, B.A., M. B., son of Mr. Wm. CATHCART, Strathroy, Omagh, and who is at present serving in France, has been promoted to the rank of captain from the 16th October. His father is the clerk the union and rural district council. Mr. John CROSBIE, jun., Sion Mills, a building trades instructor under the Department of Agriculture, who has been stationed at Cavan for the past three years, has obtained an appointment in the Royal Naval Air Service. He left Cavan yesterday to take up duties in London. Mr. CROSBIE received the greater portion of his technical training in Strabane, where he also acted as assistant manual instructor. He has received the highest commendation from the Department’s inspector for his efficient work. Second-Lieutenant C.C. HARLAND Hampshire Regiment, a nephew of the late Sir Edward J. HARLAND Bart.. M.P., of Belfast, has been confirmed in his rank. He was wounded at the Dardanelles some time ago. East Belfast Prisoner Mrs. EDGAR who resides at 78 Methuen Street, Belfast, has received a postcard from her husband. Rifleman Archibald EDGAR 8th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles (East Belfast Volunteers) - who was reported missing in yesterday’s issue - stating that he was wounded and taken prisoner on 16th October. He is now quite well.
