Donegal Died On the 15th instant in the 24th year of her age Miss Mary CUNNINGHAM of Killead On Friday week, in Omagh, Mr. Samuel ALCORN merchant At Newtonstewart, Mr. Mathew STEWART, Methodist preacher On Saturday the 7th inst. of a pleuratic fever, Mr Jas. PORTER of Ballymagorry, aged 57 years. The deceased was a man of sterling honesty and unaffected piety, who had greatly endeared himself to a numerous circle of friends by his truly amiable dispositions. A respectable member of the linen trade, he enjoyed the confidence of the most respectable in that branch On Friday the 14th instant at Buncrana, whither he had been ordered for the benefit of his health, Mr. William WAUGH of Derry, aged 47 years. Mr. WAUGH combined in his character, uprightness, firmness and humanity, virtues which the arduous and responsible situation of governor of the jail of the City and County of Derry, filled him, for the extended period of 22 years, to the great satisfaction of the public, gave him a full opportunity of bringing into exercise. Mr. WAUGH was an old permanent Sergeant of the Londonderry Legion and it is unnecessary to say how much to the advantage of the Corps he discharged the duties of that office. On Monday in Strabane, very suddenly, being ill but 24 hours, Mrs. Dr. MEASE much regretted by all her friends and acquaintances. Belfast Commercial Chronicle 5 April 1826 Gaston ROGAN and Conyngham Burton JOYCE Assignees of James WHITHEROW Custodee, Plaintiffs John AUSTIN and Andrew AUSTIN Defendants. Whereas by an order made in this cause, bearing date 10th March instant, the Lord Treasurers Remembrancer is required to set by Public cant, to the highest and fairest bidder, that part of the lands of Drimmeny, containing 48 acres or thereabouts, as lately in the possession of Robert KERR deceased also, the lands of Ballymagorry, with the dwelling house and offices thereon, now in the possession the Defendant, Andrew AUSTIN all said premises being in the CountyTyrone and granted in custodiam in this cause for 3 years from the 25th March instant, if the plaintiffs interest shall so long continue. I do hereby give Notice that I will on Mon., 24th Apr. next, at the hour of 2 o'clock in the afternoon, at the Lord Treasurers Remembrancer Office, Kings Inn quay, proceed to set said premises, for said term, pursuant to said order. Dublin Evening Mail 30 Jun. 1834 We are sorry to learn that on Wednesday, sen., a child of 4 years of age was killed in Ballymagorry, a car running over it; and on same day a young girl, belonging to Strabane, was drowned while bathing the Mourne. Two brothers of the name of MILLS and a man named MAGUIRE were drowned on Saturday sen., while crossing Lough Erne, in a cot, near Castle Caldwell. The frail bark, it is supposed, was swamped by a large wave, the weather being somewhat stormy. On Saturday the 14th inst. Lieutenant UNDERWOOD with a party of Revenue Police, succeeded in taking 2 stills, 2 heads, a worm, and 2 sacks of malt in a house in Strabane. On Thursday sen., Henry Purdon WILKINSON Esq., of the Revenue Police, stationed in Enniskillen, with the party under his command, seized on the premises of John HENDERSON in the parish of Dromore Co. Tyrone, 2 stills at full work, 320 gallons of potale, and 35 bushels of malt. He arrested 3 persons - John HENDERSON, Thomas LITTLE and Ralph BREEN and had them convicted before the Rev. John Grey PORTER. Northern Whig 11 Aug. 1838 On the evening of Friday, the 3d inst, Dennis SWEENY, a road contractor from the neighbourhood of Dunfanaghy, having called at the Branch of the Belfast Bank Strabane, for payment of an order from the Treasurer of the County of Donegal and having got the cash (£10) he and a friend from the same place went a public house in that town and when he (SWEENY) after getting a little refreshment, was handing the notes to his friend to count them, the landlady of the public house took them, saying she would keep them for him, as she said he was intoxicated and shortly handed them to her husband. The husband left the house withis hat, but did not return. On the police being made acquainted with the transaction, they pursued him to Ballymagorry, where he was found drinking in a public house. On searching his person none of the cash could be found, but one GALLAGHER with whom he was found drinking, said he gave him £9. After his apprehension, the other £1 was found on the person of the landlady. On Saturday evening an investigation of the case took place before John HUMPHREYS Esq, Provost, when the publican was detained until a further investigation before the Petty Sessions on Monday next. Mrs HIGGINS late of Maragall Yesterday morning Isabella, the beloved wife of John M'CONNELL, tea gardens, Iower Malone, aged 30 years On Sun. the 16th ult., at the residence of his grandfather, James PEDDER Esq, Ashton lodge Lancashire, John Pedder ECHLIN, the infant son of John Robert ECHLIN Esq., of Echlinville the County Down. On the 24th ult. aged 38 years, after a protracted illness which she bore with exemplary patience, and pious resignation Jane relict of the late John IRELAND of Belfast. Of consumption on the 24th ult. in the 24th year of her age, Nancy wife of Mr. Ledlie CLARK of Belfast and daughter of Wm. CAMPBELL Esq, of Antrim. Her amiable and cheerful disposition, her unaffected piety and benevolence, secured her respect and esteem while alive and cause her untimely death to be generally lamented. Those who knew her in the domestic circle, can appreciate the loss her friends have sustained. At Dromore on the 22nd ult.
