Donaghmore, Co.Tyrone, to Anna Sophia daughter of the late John WARD Esq. of Ramelton Died On the 6th inst. aged 27 years, after a lingering and painful illness, which she bore with fortitude and resigntion, Mrs. ANDERSON, wife of Mr Henry ANDERSON, merchant, Belfast On the 16th inst. in an obscure lodging house in this town, (Belfast) in great distress, Hugh JOHNSTON, journeyman printer. This individual, the victim of consumption, described himself as being a native of Dublin, whither he was returning after a residence of nearly 30 years in England. He was decently buried by the trade At Lambeg, on Sun. 11th inst. Henry Hamilton MARMION eldest son of the late Henry MARMION Esq. of Lisburn, much regretted by all who knew him and in Demerara, a few months ago, Philip Talbot second son of the late Henry MARMION Esq. On the morning of the 13th inst. at Crumlin, Mr. Robert WOODS of that place aged 35 years, to the sincere regret of his relations and acquaintances and who, from his probity and other amiable qualities, was highly esteemed At his house in Larne on the 9th inst. Wm. LIVINGSTON Esq. in the 66th year of his age. He died as he lived, at peace with God and man. In him his family has lost a kind and indulgent father and his wife, an affectionate husband. After a tedious illness which he bore with becoming resignation, his soul took its flight from its clay tenemant to enter upon the more sublime enjoyments of happy spirits in the realms of light. On Tues. the 13th inst. after a severe and protracted illness, Miss Mary HAY, Derriaghy, aged 23 years. This young woman's conduct through life was laudable and deserving. In her manners she was modest and reserved and exceedingly attentive to the culture and improvements of her mind, for while many of her gay and frivolous aquaintances spent their leisure hours in recreation and amusement, she unhesitatingly devoted those precious moments of existence to reading and reflection. The (very?) numerous concourse of people, particularly of females about her own age, that accompanied her remains (to?) the place of interment, afforded a convincing proof of esteem in which she was held by her neighbours, kindred and acquaintarnces At Banbridge on the 10th inst. in the 61st year of his age, Mr. Henry MITCHELL, Postmaster. During the last 3 years, he labored under a complication of grievously painful complaints, which he bore with the most exemplary patience, educing support and consolation from the promises revealed in religion. He was a man of industrious habits and strictest integrity and possessed a shrewd discerning mind. He gave every satisfaction in the manner he superintended the business of the post office since his appointment and it is hoped that some of his family will succeed him in the situation On the 10th inst. at her father's residence near Dungiven, in the 20th year of her age, Mary wife of George O'KANE Esq. lieutenant in the revenue police. Her mild and benevolent disposition endeared her to her relatives and friends, who will long, and deeply, lament her premature death On the 9th inst. Mrs. Grace THOMPSON of Mountpleasant, near Florencecourt aged 80 years. 6 Feb. 1829 Tom KELLETT, this man, who officiated as finisher of the law at the late executions in Dublin, had been a ploughman in the employment of the gaoler of Carrickfergus 13 years ago and on an emergency, when a man was to be whipped in the market place, he was taken from the plough, to the cat-o-nine-tails and from that time his occupation had undergone a complete change. He was thenceforwaard employed as a hangman on the North-west circuit and amongst others of his exploits, he was the executioner of 13 persons, convicted of the burning of Wild Goose lodge Three years ago he had married a girl not much more than 16 years old and as his business increased, he found it necessary to bring her to Omagh, at the time of an execution. He there initiated her into the mysteries of his art and having attired her in a man's apparel, she acted as executioner on the occasion and has actually continued to do so from time to time, since that period. He states that he finds this arrangement extremely convenient for he can attend to an execution at one place, whilst his wife is attending another in a different part of the country. Co.
