James M'MAHON was indicted for that he, on 12th May 1835, did marry Mary HARRAN and that he, on 24th Sept. last, did marry Bridget SMITH his former wife being then alive - Guilty William BAIRD for an assault on Mary M'ELROY of Ballinode on 16th February last, by firing a pistol at her, loaded with a bullet, with intent to do her bodily harm - not guilty Hugh WILSON for having inflicted a mortal wound in the right side of the body of John CORRY on 6th Oct. 1834, with a pair of scissors, which caused his desth. guilty Patrick MAGINNISS for uttering a base half crowrn at Clones - guilty Richard WILSON for stealing a cow at Newbliss, the property of John JORDAN - Pleaded guilty Patrick M'MAHON and Edward M'BRIDE for stealing pigs at Tullycrin, the property of John STEENSON - guilty Mary BROWN for stealing wearing apparel at Clones - Pleaded guilty Thomas KEENAN for a malicious assault on Terence M'CARON on 9th Jan. 1836 -guilty Edward HUGHES for stealing a cloak the property of Joseph MURPHY -not guilty Michael ISLAND for stealing potatoes - guilty James KELLY 14 years of age, for entering the shop of James MURRAY at Monaghan, with intent to rob said shop. Pleaded guilty Wed. Mar. 16th Owen M'CARRON and Terence and Bridget KELLY for an assault on Thomas M'CORMACK 27th Jan. last, at Drum; also for a riot -M'CARRON guilty of the assault; KELLY acquitted Thomas SHERIDAN for assaulting Owen M'CARRON on 28th Dec. 1840, and taking from his person several sums of money- not guilty Thos. PETERS for throwing Arthur MARTIN against a stool, which infiicted a wound on his right side, which caused his death on 19th Feb. last, at Clones - guilty Michael DAWLEY for stealing a shirt - guilty James GALLAGHER for stealing a loaf, the property of Alex. WALLACE at Monaghan - acquitted John HILL and Michael CASEY for assatiting Ann CAIRNES, on 4th Sept. last, at Cornapace and forcibly carrying her away, with intent that said John HILL would marry her against her will - HILL guilty of the assault; CASEY - not guilty Samuel WHITE for discharging a pistol at Jas. QUIN with intent to do him bodily harm on 26th March last - acquitted Kiddy MULDOON, Biddy MULDOON and Elizabeth MAGINNIS for stealing potatoes on 3rd Feb. last, at Ballybeck. Kiddy MULDOON and Elizabeth MAGINNIS guilty and Biddy MULDOON acquitted Biddy Mlluldoon James MURPHY for committing a rape on the person of Margaret TIERNEY on 15th August last, at Clones, also for a common assault - Guilty George DONALDSON for writing and causing to be posted a certain notice threatening violence and injury to one Robert M'COY, if he should proceed with the purchase of certain lands situsate at Corfad. Robert WRIGHT for posting and publishing said notice on same day and both acquitted Hugh CLARE for having signed the name of John CUMMISKEY to a receipt for £4, payable to said CUMMISKEY at Summer Assizes 1841, also for receiving the said sum from the Treasurer of the County Monaghan, by personation and fraud on 25th August last - guilty of uttering John WRIGHT and a number of other persons for an illegal procession on 12th July last, at Castleblayney. The prisoners submitted Thomas TRACEY for joining in procession on 12th July last, at Castleblayney - No prosecution Thurs. Mar. 17 Samuel M'NEECE for having committed a rape on the person of Elizabeth OWENS - No prosecution, discharged Robert IRWIN, James GRAY, Thomas KEYS, Jame M'CARTER, William KERR, James BROWN, John GEDDIS, James KERR and John FOSTER for a riot at Clones on 29th November last, also for an assault on Thomas REYNOLDS - not guilty James FOSTER, Benjnmin CHAMBERS, James and Wm KELLY for an illegal procession, on 2nd Aug. last, at Loughcorr CHAMBERS guilty, the others acquitted George FERGUSON for stealing a silver spoon, the property of David SCARLETT - guilty Thos.
