i tried parted to partition the disk, but had more than my share of
nightmare with it. My nightmare is on

i'm not sure if i've ever understood the whole story, so if you
read this, part of it may have been pure stupidity. But on the other
hand, i don't think i did anything out of the ordinary.

Our dept. does have a copy of partitionmagic, and I think i would try
that again next time ;-)
