I've been looking at laptops with built-in CCDs, specifically the Alienware MJ-12 7700. I chatted with one of their sales droids and asked if the video camera was supported in Linux, to which the answer was "we don't support that." Further inquiries as to the technical specs only get me as far as "300K Video Camera Module". (which I presume means 300Kpixel CCD, although I saw a stick-on version of one of these that was really 100Kpixel and did some software mojo to "claim" 300K)
Question is, does anyone either know what it really is, or better yet, is it supported by Linux? -- Brian C. Merrell [EMAIL PROTECTED]
