Hey everyone,
I got linux installed on my machine during the last installfest, so now
I'm trying to get comfortable with it. I got Ubuntu, and the main
reason I chose to use linux is because I know it's easier to ssh with
it to the university server in order to get my work done for my cmsc
classes. For cmsc412 we're using this emulator called Bochs, so after
SSHing it should open a new window with the emulator, however, whenever
I try to do that I get a message saying: "[X GUI]: cannot connect to
xserver" (or something like that). Before installing Ubuntu I used a
live-cd linux (Knoppix) and in Knoppix it worked just fine. I tried
installing the KDE packets on Ubuntu but that didn't change anything.
Can anyone help? Why am I not able to get it to run? Are there some
settings I need to change, and if so, how?
Thank you,
Eran.
