If my cable router and my wireless router are closer than ~4 ft, I see
significant (30-50%) packet loss.  If they are further than 4 ft apart,
I usually get away with 1% packet loss.  Needless to say, they are as far
apart as possible.

I f-ing hate cable, though.  Comcast really gave me the runaround in the
beginning (although to be fair, it has been relatively steady for the past
year).  If DSL was available in my area, I'd jump at the chance, despite
the higher cost and lower bandwidth.
