Greetings UMLUG,
Just a reminder that I will be attending tonight's meeting to take your votes
on the new Tux.Org Directors. The candidates are David Cafaro and Doug Toppin.
Here are their biographies
(from http://www.tux.org/~megan/candidates.html):
Candidate: David Cafaro
David Cafaro is currently employed at Georgetown University's Advanced Research
Computing group where he supports computational research needs through the use
of Linux and OpenSource technologies. Previously he has worked as a Security
Analyst at Tresys Technology with a focus on SELinux policy work. In his spare
time he is currently acting as the Security Track Chair for LinuxWorld Boston
2006 conference were he is trying to provide a robust session track covering a
full range of OpenSource security issues for conference attendees. David was
also the Chair of the Columbia Area Linux Users Group (CALUG) in Maryland from
2002-2005, leaving the position after moving to Virginia late 2005. Previously
to moving to Maryland, David was a member of the Triangle Linux Users Group
(TRILUG) in RTP, NC.
Candidate: Doug Toppin
Doug has been in software systems design and development professionally since
1979. In that time he has held numerous positions/roles involved in software
including design, development, field support, project and personnel management,
both in defense and commercial applications. His Unix experience began around
1988 with IBM Xenix and eventually evolved into Linux a number of years ago. He
prefers to use Linux whenever possible and tries to help others use it more
effectively in their needs as well.
I will arrive early to the meeting so as not to interrupt the planned agenda.
Thank you for your time and participation!
