that's funny, I have an irrational fear of vi.  I'm 100% emacs, but my wife 
(whom I hope I may bring on the 18th!) is all vi.  Should I worry?

Well, seeing that the bit about the Church of Emacs appears under the
"humour" section on his homepage probably means that he doesn't take
it too seriously. :-)
