If your using ubuntu check out the packages vpnc (for a cisco vpn client) and network-manager-vpnc. The latter is a network-manager plugin that gives a nice vpnc gui interface.

I'm using vpnc with instructions from Peter Teuben's page on my Ubuntu setup
and haven't had any
problems. There's no fancy GUI, but it's a simple command from a terminal.

Hi,
I just joined the Linux "Ubunto" community and kind of trying to find my way
in it.
I want to install the university's VPN client, but it seems that they do not
have the source on the OIT page, can you help me finding it.
Regards,
