Thanks for the reply. I configured exim to use mail.umd.edu by changing the dc_smarthost option in /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf. I also set the directory id and password in the passwd.client file. Still not able to send mail, however. I am using mutt, by the way. -- R.Kumar.
