It begs the question, I suppose, or whether it works under any other OS. If
you have a dual-boot set up, check it there, or try booting to a
Knoppix/Ubuntu/etc LiveCD. Obviously if sound comes out of the speakers the
sound card works, so a hardware defect is a distinct possibility.

Gotta love troubleshooting hardware...

Subject: [UM-LINUX] Speaker Jack

Dear All:

I have a friend who has Laptop with RHEL44, and
found out that his speaker jack does not work properly.
His microphone jack works fine. Also he can listen
through Laptop's speaker anyway.

We are wondering if this is due to Hardware problem
or something else and if there is any quick remedy
we can do.

Thanks for any suggesting!

Best,
Jin-Ho
