Gnash (http://www.gnu.org/software/gnash/) seems to be the best open source Flash player available. It's a bit hit-or-miss for some Flash movies, as it is only (allegedly) compatible up to Flash v7. Gnash 0.8.1 claims to be able to play YouTube videos, but actual success depends on your hardware and exactly how you compile the sources.
I remember coming across an open source Flash authoring tool, but I can't recall what it is at the moment. -- Julian ---- Original message ---- >Date: Thu, 6 Mar 2008 08:58:35 -0500 >From: Rob Sherwood <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: [UM-LINUX] open source flash player/creator >To: [email protected] > >Hi all, > >Does anyone here have any recommendations for open source flash players >and creations tools/libraries? > >Thanks in advance, > >- Rob >.
