Would you mind sharing your solution?

Out of curiosity, I tried using the 'Window Rules' plugin in Compiz to force 
Hulu and MythTV to a particular window size (that's not the size of the actual 
display), but both programs seemed to start up at the forced window size, then 
resize themselves to the real display size after a few seconds.  So now I'm 
curious to know if there actually is any way to manually change the size of a 
"full-screen" window...
