We have a similar LDAP directory at UMBC. I tried the UMD server from
Pine, and it works with the following settings. They should also work in
another client (I have set it up with Thunderbird in the past)
ldap-server = ldap.umd.edu
search-base = dc=umd,dc=edu
port = <No Value Set: using "389">
bind-dn = <No Value Set>
nickname = <No Value Set>

lacking in information on the LDAP server, but I did find this
presentation

which gives a tiny bit more information.
So, if anyone's figured out how to connect to the LDAP server, I'd love
to hear it!
