I confess this isn't a Linux question, but it does have to do with the
cheap Linux laptop (evolve iii Maestro) I brought up in a recent thread
here.
It's been working great. There's a Linux driver for the wifi that
compiles easily and it seems that if I upgrade to Slackware-current
(with latest kernel) it'll even work out of the box (along with audio
and maybe camera).
So I was using it on travel and plugged the power supply into an outlet
that turned out to be defective. Some time later, the battery ran to
ground. (I don't have a power daemon to shut it down). Now, when I plug
it in, I get no "charging" light. When I hit the power switch, I get a
brief "low battery" graphic on the screen and it shuts right down. Even
after hours of attempting to charge.
Anyone have an idea what might be going on, and how to deal with it? I'm
thinking of ways to go in and put a small charge on the battery but
maybe running it down killed it entirely... ? Didn't think Li-ion
batteries were that sensitive.
Anyway, just curious if anyone's seen this before.
thx
Judah
