It seems you misread the question "Have you applied for any other 2011
Summer of Code projects? If so, which ones?"

I confess I'm a little confused about your project. When I started
reading I thought you were going to do a "nmap clone" of some kind for
Android, but then you mentioned running Umit as a daemon to perform
scans remotely by using the Android client (can't quickscan do this
already ? It is a real question, I don't know). On the other hand, you
do mention the development of some form of port scanner but it seems
to be just a smaller version of nmap. Won't you run in the (same)
problem of requiring this program to be installed as root ?
