Hi,
I am planning to submit another proposal beside "Network Inventory : new
Generation" which would include "Packet Manipulator : new Audits"
and "Visualization of nodes in UMIT Web Scanner". As you suggested I think
using
SVG is a good idea and serves the purpose.
As Packet Manipulator is not used as traffic analyzer like wireshark, I
would like to propose a idea of extending packet manipulator so that user can
track conversations (TCP etc.) produce some statistical graphs. I was planning
to include both Packet Manipulator : new audits and Visualization of nodes
in Web Scanner, but I'm unaware about the work load in Packet Manipulator : new
audits. So I want some feedback if it would be good to just
concentrate on Packet Manipulator : new audits as I suppose there is lot of
work
to be done in this project.
Regarding Packet Manipulator, I have experimented with Packet Manipulator
but I have not yet looked at audit framework yet, which I am starting
now. Meanwhile, I would like to discuss about these new audits and missing
features. We will be using UMPA as back-end and extending it, adding
new audits to Packet Manipulator. I am unclear of fuzzing capabilities offered
by scapy. I will come with some ideas soon.

Network Scanner
Hi Brijesh,
I'll explain by myself, and give you some tips that will help you to do a good
proposal.

It sounds great! You can check RadialNet/Topology in Umit Network Scanner. Did
you do that?
May I

How about rendering SVG? It might be a good idea. Just wondering..
In addition

Sounds like cloud storage, isn't it?
Also if we do not want to disturb the UI, we

Of course. In this idea, you can start to see Topology. However, do not forget,
that Umit Web has to be rewritten, at least, part of the code, because right
now, it's still a "proof-of-concept".
www.umitproject.org - go to downloads and download Umit Network Scanner.
For instance in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfCmyhfd7xQ

Network Topology and Netwok Inventory. :)

proposal, http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/org/home/google/gsoc2011/umit
Deadline: 8th April.
Just let me know if you need further information.
