Hi,

I'm Orcun Avsar. I study computer engineering in Turkey. I wish to work on
Aggregator part of the OpenMonitor project. I was a GSoC 2011 student last
year. I contributed Melange for the "Integration with external APIs"
project. Melange powers GSoC and GCI workflows. It runs on Appengine with
Django (not through 'django non-rel' but smilar). My project was about
using external APIs (GData) to integrate some features like proposal
syncing, spreadsheet exporting, student shipment tracking etc. I kept
contributing project after GSoC for a while but had to give a break becuse
of my lessons. I will reference to the project documents when needed.

There are few strong reasons for me to apply this project.

   - Since I'm a Turkish citizen, I'm one of the victims of the Internet
censorship. This is a strong + motivation for me. This project is not the
solution itself but plays a role in being a part of the solution as an
   informative tool.
   - I strongly support Free Software and Freedom of information.
   - I like the development tools. I worked with GAE last summer intensely.
I want more consolidated development skills with GAE / Python.
   - It's fun to work/learn with open source people.

In here, I want to examine code base as quick as possible to integrate
myself with the project. Currently code is available in sourceforge but not
at github. Can you at least give a link to download tarball?

Questions about project (those I couldn't get any reply on #IRC :)):

   - Support various slave aggregators: Does that mean multiple servers
will work in a replicated mode or these will be backup servers those serve
as temporarily buffer (like current clients). Do we need to write a
seperate application for this or just modify current aggregator since It
can work on other environments through WSGI.
   - Internet Map: What does that mean? : "we would like to be able to also
use our nodes to map the Internet and show that in real time on our site. "
   - IPv6: Will aggreagator and nodes (peers) talk over IPv6 or this only
contains code change to accept IPv6 addreses (like model field changes
   etc..).
