Hi list, Yesterday I attended a seminar here in Pisa held by prof. Juan Carlos De Martin. The title of the presentation was "Towards an Internet-science". Anyway the point is not that. During the presentation Juan presented his group the Nexa Center for Internet Society [1], and also mentioned one of their project neubot [2]. In saw several similarities with respect to OpenMonitor and therefore it struggled in my mind a possible collaboration with the team of neubot, since the project is also written in python, and the aim is network neutrality in a broad sense.
I've not deeply digged in the code itself [3] but from the FAQ of the site [4] I read that a SpeedTest and a BitTorrent tests are currently implemented. Anyway I like their approach to publish their data online through the m-lab [5]. Probably collaborating would be a plus (but also very difficult at this stage), but in any case we can get inspiration from their work to improve OpenMonitor. What do you guys think about it?
