If you can convince them to install under /z/linuxaux/opt/perl, that should also work. But I concede that's annoying to maintain...
If it's not too large, I could probably just add these to the distribution. Which XML modules, exactly?

I'd need XML::XPath and XML::XMLParser (is required by XML::XPath). AFAIK XML::XPath requires expat which'd need to be included too, thought that'd only work if I create my own release.
