Sorry, if I have something missed then: I thought there is sometimes a
/sys/block/hda/settings etc. if I have a SATA disk in? Have to check
this tomorrow ...

Well, if we already have a samba drive, mounted with our install files,
all with read only rights of course, there could be a writeable log
path, too.
