Hello,

Im trying to copy some files, but cp triggers the oom-killer.

testcase:

mkdir /c/tst
cp /z/os/winxpsp2/i386/* /c/tst

Under vmware the oom killer kicks in on both busybox-1.6.1 and 1.81.

Another low-memory box (256MB) I have here does the same with busybox-1.6.1.
dd if=/dev/zero of=/c/out also triggers oomkiller.
but dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/dsk does not..

The oom killer does not kick in on a 2GB system (busybox-1.6.1)
but free tells me that I only have 111464 free after the test.
A second test
mkdir /c/tst
cp /z/os/winxpsp2/i386/* /c/tst
Also runs OK

So, it looks like we have a bug somewhere..
I dont think it is busybox, but have something to do with the file system..
..Im not sure where to look now..

I remember seeing this some time ago also, so this is probably an old one.
Any hints?
