sure, as long as it on the kernel.
I did a search for that NIC but I am not sure if is supported. What 
driver is using e1000 ?

If this nic is not supported by the kernel, you need to open a bug with 
them. I am having problems with a sis191 nic card that is not recognize 
by the kernel. My solution was to use a usb network adapter.
