Hi.

I remember someone having problems with Dell Optiplex 755 because of the 
e1000 nic driver in the kernel, didnt work on the 82566DM-2 chipset in 
them.

After messing around the last few days, I tried to compile my own kernel 
where I had replaced the e1000 driver with the one from 
http://e1000.sf.net/, before compiling. It seems to work with no trouble 
at all.

Basically I did:

make download

replace the content of linux-2.6.23.1/drivers/net/e1000 with the content 
of the src of the newest e1000 driver.

make tftpboot

Hope this helps anyone that have the same problem.

I have not tried how this work with the 4.7 release, as I still have 
specilized my own 4.7pre from mid 2006 hightly, and time is not a 
limitless resource. ;)
