Hi. I remember someone having problems with Dell Optiplex 755 because of the e1000 nic driver in the kernel, didnt work on the 82566DM-2 chipset in them.
After messing around the last few days, I tried to compile my own kernel where I had replaced the e1000 driver with the one from http://e1000.sf.net/, before compiling. It seems to work with no trouble at all. Basically I did: make download replace the content of linux-2.6.23.1/drivers/net/e1000 with the content of the src of the newest e1000 driver. make tftpboot Hope this helps anyone that have the same problem. I have not tried how this work with the 4.7 release, as I still have specilized my own 4.7pre from mid 2006 hightly, and time is not a limitless resource. ;) Nils -- Nils Østbjerg SAMF-IT, Faculty of Social Sciences, Aalborg University, Denmark ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
