The answer is simple and complicated... ;-) It depends on the version of Visual Studio which was used to compile. With new versions of Visual Studio, new Versions of .NET were released. Visual Studio .NET 2002: .NET 1.0 Visual Studio .NET 2003: .NET 1.1 Visual Studio 2005: .NET 2.0/3.0 Visual Studio 2008: .NET 3.5 Normally newer programs use newer .NET versions. It makes sense to at least include .NET 1.1 and 2.0, which are currently most used. .NET 3.x seems not to be used very often atm. But that'll change...
