yes, I began to work on HDAUDIO support.
Right now, I use the kernel HDAUDIO sound card modules to be able to
parse the device tree (I develop on CentOS-4 and CentOS-5 systems).
Question about it: I just need to parse the HDAUDIO device lists, not
the sound drivers ... which corresponding option(s) to enable ?

For ACPI support, have to find how to parse its device list and how to
"translate" these informations into search strings for .INF parsing.
If you have any clue related to it, don't forget me ;-)
If you have also samples (dmesg & co), please send them to me.

you can perhaps continue to use the automated search for PCI devices and
keep your own systems for other, betting that all of them will be
supported in the future ?
At least, less drivers to "maintain" ?

PS: I will be off this week.
