Yes, that it good to see on the front page.  I think more people will find it 
that way.  I miss some of the stuff on the mailing lists.  
New people might not have even found the lists yet.

The difference between having the release candidate on the web pages like it is 
as opposed to the regular download links is that with 
the regular download links the files hit the sourceforge mirroring system.  The 
other advantage of the regular system is that people 
can configure sourceforge to send them notices when new files are available to 
download.
