Category: System Group: v4.7 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Out of Date Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: RanX (ranxeron) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: SMB Mount failure on 2k3 Server share Initial Comment: Hello dear unattended developers, I already found something about the following issue in the mailing list, but there hasn't been an updated release of the linux bootdisk of 4.7 to fix it. When the boot process got so far, it tries to copy the OS files from the Server-share (Win 2003 EE SP2) the following error occours: "smb_proc_readX_data: offset is larger than SMB_READX_MAX_PAD or negative!" As far as I found out reason lies within the kernel used on the bootdisk. Older kernel versions are not able to properly communicate with W2k3-SMB-shares. So for people who use a windows server to provide the share unattended 4.7 won't work at the moment. Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with linux to help myself, so I (and surely all other users of Win-Servers) would appreciate it very much if a bootdisk with newer kernel is released. Plus I think that this is only depended on an issue of the linuxboot that has been updated already. Reopened on the new tracker if needed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Juan Jose Pablos (jjp3) Date: 2009-11-12 11:25 Message: Do you still have problem with latest version of unattended? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=499855&aid=2191515&group_id=62053 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev _______________________________________________ unattended-devel mailing list unattended-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/unattended-devel
