yes it is a modem. And it's a HDAUDIO device, as described in its .inf file.
so how do I install it if the FUNC_<n> is not correct ? ;-)

Strange; never saw 'FUNC_00' in search-win-drivers.pl output.
(side effect of recent Unattended kernel ?)

On a non-matching hardware, please send me a copy of c:/netinst/drivers.log 
and also the output of the following commands:
  ls /proc/asound/card*/codec#*
  cat /proc/asound/card*/codec#*
