Hi, I came across an article in the MS knowledge base the other day. It describes how to get around the many reboots when installing hotfixes to Windows.
Basicly it says that all hotfixes created after December 2002 can be installed without rebooting without problems, otherwise you need to run a program called qchain.exe before rebooting. More info in knowledge base article : 296861 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];q296861 Personaly I think this can speed up the unattended install process a bit, and it will make it easier to add new hotfixes to the scriptfiles, since you dont have to worry about whether or not a reboot is needed. On another subject: On the webpage it says that the only way to optain "Windows 2000 Guide to Unattended Setup" was to download "Windows 2000 SP3 Support Tools" On Microsofts webpage I wound a page called "Microsoft Windows 2000 Guide to Unattended Setup". I dont know if it is the same but I think so, either way it is a good page to read. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000pro/deploy/unattend/sp1unatd.asp Regards, Nils -- Nils stbjerg mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: ValueWeb: Dedicated Hosting for just $79/mo with 500 GB of bandwidth!
