Daniel, I am with you on the 2.7 upgrade. I am thinking that I will probably wait until some progress is made in getting away from the dos boot images in favor of Linux boot images. Or, if somebody gets around to integrating drive mapping authentication... Then I'll be back into development for the project with both feet. Anyway, to answer your question, to get around temporary failures, I just try a number of times before giving up. See the attached file. I also log the fact that the drive mapping succeeded or failed.

I just want to ask you something short. I haven't updated to version to 2.7 yet, because that will generate a lot of extra work for me and why change something that is working fine for me;) The only minor problem I have from the old release is that the mapdrive.pl sometimes times out when connecting to the Z:\ share and then won't kick-off the z:\bin\todo.pl -go command, and then installations is stopping. (or could this has happened at the same time I updated the W2K server with SP4?? What I would need is either a small timeout between the net use command and the --go.. Can you send me a short line of code for this? It seams like the NIC will take some extra seconds sometimes to connect to the distribution server and especially in a lager corporation the network speed isn't always the best. Or maybe a small wait command before the net use and then a small wait command until the kick off. Can you help, or will the procedures be easier in the new release? Otherwise the mapdrive has helped me a lot, do you have any other interesting scripts?? Currently sitting in the lab with the summer outside and no aircon inside.. /D
