Subject: [Unattended] Re: sysprep and HALs
Importance: HighWell to answer this question simply:
The reason I went looking for an alternative unattended installation method was because of the problems with SYSPREP and Windows 2000. Incidently I never did solve the problem because if you have different hardware configurations you can forget about ghosting as it won't work. Patrick's method works like a dream....why do you have to do it Microsoft's way? Patrick's unattended approach using Perl is so easy to set up and use and the beauty of it is that you can use it with Windows 2000 and XP say and the hardare can be anything. If there is a service pack release or hotfix for example this process also accommodates this.
Hope this helps and stears you away from Microsoft's cumbersome approach.
