The printers must be setup on the print server such that they can be installed by just calling the full unc path to the printer from a command line or run dialog.

FYI, this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=189105 has info on how to add printers w/o user interaction.

For example, I use this command (all one line):

rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /if /b "Phaser 4400N" /f \\townsend\download\Xerox_Phaser_4400_Drivers\English\x4400_2k.inf /r "http://phaser/"; /m "Xerox Phaser 4400N"

to automatically add an "http"-based printer to desktops.

This is useful in my situation, because that printer is not shared by any actual computers (other than itself) for me to load drivers on.
