Well, it looks like Samba accepts "username/DOMAIN" or
"DOMAIN\username", but not the other two.

I have edited /etc/master on the Linux boot disk to accept
username/DOMAIN and convert it to DOMAIN\username.  In other words:
"Fixed in next release."
