I dont know if you ever got a responce to you question, so I'll post one 
now eventhou it is rather late.

I think we are doing it. Im not an Oracle type of guy, so I let someone 
else handle the setup of oracle and creation of the respons files, but I 
scripted the unattended fil. The only major problem we had, was some of 
the oracle installers exiting right after it started. 

However I found a small utility called wait.exe which monitors which 
process a program starts and wait until all processes ends before 
exiting.

(search for "wait.exe" to find it.)
