I have a Toshiba A40 notebook with onboard LAN NIC Intel 100/Pro+ which as far as I can see loads the e100b.dos successfully but then doesn't complete the rest of the network setup.

The screen flies by too fast to read when it loads the e100.dos hardware driver but it ends as follows: (which I assume means it was successful?)

Defaulting to NIC found in slot 0x0028.
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_103D&SUBSYS_00011179&REV83
Permanent Node Address 00080DB367F4
Current Node Address 00080DB367F4
Configuration Speed AUTO
Transmit Buffers 4
Receive BUffers 8

## I would have assumed at this point that the e100b.dos loaded successfully?

It then goes on to say:

DOS TCP/IP

The command completed successfully.

LAN Manager Netbind

Error 36 Unable to bind. Hardware failure.

NET0125: NETBIND must be executed before TCP/IP TSR module is loaded.
   Unloadable TCP 1.0 not loaded.

## This I find confusing? I thought it said a few lines earlier that DOS TCP/IP loaded successfully?

NET0116: TCP Access failure by Tiny RFC.
press any key to continue
Error 7361, IPX or NetBIOS must be running in order to load the network.
