Pat, I've been spending too much time figuring out how to do the MBR and its becoming frustrating.
I've tried this: download fdisk121.zip from freedos. mkdir x mount -o dosboot.img x cp fdisk.exe x/ umount x/ >From dosemu: A: fdisk /mbr "ERROR: Sector not found, AH=0x42! I've read some of your responses on the mailing list and it makes sense that since C: -> /dev/sda2, then fdisk does not have access the disk. Any ideas? Thanks, Tony >> If that does not work, try the "freedos-mbr.bin" file under >> linuxboot/misc in the Unattended distribution. > > I tried both bootsect.dos, bootsect.dat, freedos-mbr.bin, but none work. > > My disks look like this. > > /dev/sda1 -> utility partition 32M > /dev/sda2 -> windows install partition 6G fat32 > > All I need is the correct MBR to boot into sda2 to load ntldr. > > I am going to try freedos's fdisk.exe /mbr. > > I think this is the last piece of the puzzle. > > Thanks for all your help.
