So, maybe try booting with "noapic" and/or "ide0=serialize"?

You can use Shift+PageUp to scroll backwards.

We have no good way to capture the output, but you are right that we
should.  Hm.

To my knowledge, nobody else is having this problem.  (Please speak up
if I am wrong.)

So I suspect a corrupted ISO image.  Is it possible something went
wrong during the download (unlikely) or extraction (more likely)?
