I tried this script on a ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe using unattended v4.3. The board has two onboard Serial-ATA channels and the usual two IDE channels.
The script _is_ finding the correct boot drive (sda), _but_ there is no /dev/sda.
The kernel finds the disks on the SATA channels:
