Now the new "prepare" downloads all of those files containing any uppercase letters anywhere in their name one more time. And apart from the obvious waste of bandwidth and server space the real fun and confusion starts once the samba server now having two files it could serve trying to determine which one it should offer today.
just run lower-casify.pl on the unattended/install directory and you have all your files lowercase. Then if you run prepare it won't re-download the files again.
Thanks. But I am not sure this is the best way to handle this? What happens if somebody does what you say and runs "lower-casify.pl" on unattended/install/linuxaux or unattended/install/linuxboot (where they had all of the downloads for re-doing the linux iso images?) ....
I guess it is reasonably safe to run it on unattended/install/os, unattended/install/updates and unattended/install/packages but even then some of the nicer looking "*.lnk" files that people might have under their own custom packages will get lowercased and it might not look as aesthetically pleasing on the start menu or on the desktop when those files are copied all in lowercase.
Just some thoughts. I can take the time to workaround them, but there might be another way to avoid having to run "lower-casify.pl" on all of install?
Thanks for all the hard work and please do not be put off by those small niggles. They are not show stoppers that's for sure. Again thanks Shad and Patrick, what would we do without you guys.
