That’s what a 5 in 1 CD is yes.

I already knew about the subfolders, etc. I found out the problem wasn’t related to the fact that it was an MCE 5 in 1 CD but was related to Tablet Edition normally being across two CDs and therefore required me to copy an extra folder besides the i386 folder and change a switch on winnt.exe in doit.bat

HOW TO INSTALL WINDOWS XP TABLET EDITION USING UNNATTENDED

For anyone who searches for this info here’s the answer:

1)       Change the path in doit.bat on the winnt.exe command from Z:\os\%OSDIR%\i386 to z:\os\%OSDIR%

2)       Copy the cmpnents folder from either CD 2 of Tablet Edition or the 5in1 CD depending on what you have to Z:\os so you’ll end up with i386 and cmpnents in there.

3)       Finally, add the /2 switch to the winnt.exe command (So that it copies both i386 and cmpnents to the HD)

All should go fine now.

In the unlikely event someone wants to do what I did and install Windows XP Tablet Edition using unattended those are the changes required. Hope that helps.

Hi,

I think you mean tablet PC, winxp home, winxp pro and so on.

Then imho you can find subfolders with these OSes.

You can try to copy these subfolders in the OS directory.

Hi,

I’ve got a 5in1 Windows XP CD that I’d like to get working with unattented. I know this is a bit off topic but does anyone know how to adapt them to work with Unattended?

Thanks,

Daniel
