Of course I find a possible solution moments after sending this message. :)

I launched the setup program for the PROSet application and it extracted
files to c:\IntelPROSet. After that a splash screen came up offering to
install the software or make a diskette. Hmm. So I made the diskette and
used the drivers from it to install the network card in the Device Manager
and it worked like a champ.

So now I've copied those drivers into the OS folder of choice and I'm trying
again.

Will let you all know what happens.

Subject: [Unattended] Dell Dimension XPS Gen 2 network driver issues.

This is driving me up the wall. I have downloaded the drivers from Dell for
this system (which happens to be a Intel Pro/1000 MT) and included them in
the I386\$OEM$\$1 folder of the only OS I have for installation (XP Pro
SP2).

I made sure on the latest attempt to only select the folder with these
network drivers and nothing else so I wouldn't exceed the 1024 character
limit in the unattend.txt file.

No dice.

I repeated the process but this time used the drivers directly from Intel.
The driver pack they have includes drivers for 20+ adapters including all of
the gigabit adapters from what I could see.

After Windows is installed I believe I have to use the setup program that
comes with the drivers and installs Intel PROSet. Is there a way around
this?

Can anyone offer any advice?
