Hello,

the reason may be found in the ascii-table. For "" you should enter [strg]
(and hold it) + 0129 so that it looks like this: ""
This letter activates the "" in the "Startmen".

For example in a batch: md "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All
Users\Startmen\Programme\test"

The complete ascii-table you may look up here:
http://www.webplain.de/software/ascii-tabelle.php?show=3

I hope this is of help for you.

Best regards,
grisu

Subject: [Unattended] [OT?] German "Startmen"

Hello,

this may be a silly question, but I have a problem with the german umlaut
"".
I want to create a shortcut into the "Startmen" but the script creates a
shortcut into "...\Startmen".

What am I doing wrong?

Here is the script - it's about installing Eclipse:
--- snip ---
:: Install Eclipse v3 and examples
::@Echo off

SET zip="%ProgramFiles%\7-ZIP\7z.exe"
SET prog=eclipse-SDK-3.0
IF EXIST "c:\Dokumente und Einstellungen" GOTO GERMAN
SET AUP=%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Startmenu\Programs
GOTO CONT

:GERMAN
SET AUP=%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Startmen\Programme
GOTO CONT

:CONT

::SET exam=eclipse-examples-3.0

:: Download from <http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index.php>

:: unzip Eclipse in place
%zip% x -y -o"%ProgramFiles%" %Z%\packages\eclipse3\%prog%-win32.zip
if errorlevel 1 exit 1

:: unzip examples in place
::%zip% x -y -o"%ProgramFiles%" %Z%\packages\eclipse3\%exam%-win32.zip
::if errorlevel 1 exit 1

mkdir "%AUP%\Eclipse"

shortcut.pl  "%ProgramFiles%\eclipse\eclipse.exe" --arguments "-vm c:
\j2sdk1.4.2_05\jre\bin\javaw" "%AUP%\Eclipse"
shortcut.pl  "%ProgramFiles%\eclipse\eclipse.exe" --arguments "-vm c:
\j2sdk1.4.2_05\jre\bin\javaw" special:AllUsersDesktop\Eclipse

Thanks,
Martin
