I have the same problem as you only the message is:
System error 1231 has occurred
ERROR_NETWORK_UNREACHABLE
The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help.
I think what is happening in my case and maybe yours is the motherboard drivers, including network, dont conform to the 8.3 dos format. The filenames get mangled during the copy so on reboot, they dont get loaded. I was looking for help with that now. Did you get anywhere?
I originally thought of having unattended tar or zip the files before they are copied. That would involve installing something on the windows end to expand then which is messy because it would need winzip and it's not at the stage to install software yet.
Then I remembered the drivers on the web come in a self extracting zip. Drivers could be left in that form and a perl script could list the contents to build the oemdriverspath and a bat file could extract them. I'm not a perl programmer but I will know if this works by editting the pre and post install scripts when the time comes.
